FINALLY! THE HONZOS HAVE ARRIVED!

Perhaps it’s a purist’s dream, or maybe it’s the fact that they’re just so darn fun, but the Honzos have some serious staying power. They are the basis of many a dream build, the yang to the yin of a bigger bike, and they are the heart and soul of Kona. The 2021 Honzos get a geometry overhaul, with slacker headtubes and shorter seat tubes, which allow for the use of longer dropper posts. But the big news is the introduction of the Honzo ESD. This thing is a bruiser. A mean-looking steel frame that pays homage to the Process X and runs a 150mm fork, the Honzo ESD is sure to be a hit among the steel bike/hardtail enthusiasts.

If Mad Max rode a bike, it would be the Honzo ESD. It’s part Honzo, part monster, and with geometry derived from the Process X, it’s made for those who want to punish the trails. A steel frame holds a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork with 150mm of travel. Shimano Deore 4-piston brakes provide ample stopping power while Race Face AR 30 rims and burly Maxxis rubber stands up to the roughest trails. This is the Warrior of the Wasteland.

Stay tuned for more on the Honzo ESD tomorrow…

HONZO DL

Kona Honzo DL 2021
The Honzo DL gets updated geometry that’s similar to the great-riding Process 134 as well as a suspension refresh. A slacker 66-degree headtube angle and a beefed up 140mm RockShox Revelation RC Debonair fork laugh in the face of steep terrain. Shorter seat tube lengths mean you’re now able to run bigger droppers for more adjustable travel with the TranzX +RAD post. We’ve added adjustable dropouts giving you the option to run the bike as a single speed. Whether you’re looking for an aggressive all-mountain ripper or a new addition to your mountain quiver, you can’t go wrong with the Honzo DL.

Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Honzo is a part of Kona’s foundation. The Honzo gets a geo update that slackens the headtube to 67 degrees and steepens the seat tube angle. With a Shimano Deore drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, and a long-travel adjustable dropper post, it’s a killer bike for the money. Squish is provided by a RockShox Recon RL Solo Air fork. Folding bead tubeless Maxxis rubber surrounds the WTB ST i30 TCS rims, providing proper grip on any surface.
